As Chief Business Officer, Dr. Romain Lemoine drives the strategic direction, growth, and performance of the company’s global process technology portfolio.

Prior to this role, Romain led the Polymers and Petrochemicals segment, expanding the company’s portfolio to over 160 technologies, with a focus on innovative, sustainable solutions. Under his leadership, Lummus strengthened its core technologies, introduced cutting-edge offerings, integrated digital capabilities, entered new markets, and advanced operational excellence across the organization.

Previously, Romain held senior roles at Axens/IFP as Executive Vice President of Technology and Technology Support. He also held R&D positions at ExxonMobil Chemical, Rentech, and Sasol, building deep technical expertise in reactor design, distillation, reaction engineering, and the commercialization of advanced technologies.

Romain holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, an Executive MBA from Rice University, and a diplôme d’ingénieur in chemical engineering from ENSCL in France. With decades of international experience across both technology development and business leadership, he continues to help shape the future of Lummus and the broader energy sector.
