Process Technologies

Aromatics Production

Lummus Technology is the exclusive worldwide licensor of a crystallization-based paraxylene technology commercialized by BP that is renowned as the most energy-efficient process for the manufacture of paraxylene offered today.

In addition to paraxylene technology, Lummus Technology can offer a complete aromatics train. Because we collaborate with other worldwide companies licensing aromatics technologies, we are able to offer single point licensing and engineering for the entire aromatics complex, including paraxylene, aromatics extraction and transalkylation units.

Paraxylene

Lummus Technology is the exclusive worldwide licensor of BP's paraxylene technology, a unique process employing single stage crystallization for paraxylene (pX) recovery.

Pygas Hydrotreating (DPG™ I & II)

Lummus Technology's DPG™ I & II are the most widely-used pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation technologies, with more than 50 units in operation or under design.

PYROTOL® Hydrodealkylation of Pyrolysis Gasoline

Our dealkylation technologies (DETOL®, LITOL® and PYROTOL®) produce high purity benzene from any aromatics-rich feedstock.

DETOL® Hydrodealkylation of Toluene

Our dealkylation technologies (DETOL®, LITOL® and PYROTOL®) produce high purity benzene from any aromatics-rich feedstock. The yield of benzene from the higher homologs is nearly stoichiometric. Each technology is designed specifically for the feedstock to be processed.

LITOL® Hydrodealkylation of Coke Oven Light Gas

Our dealkylation technologies (DETOL®, LITOL® and PYROTOL®) produce high purity benzene from any aromatics-rich feedstock. The yield of benzene from the higher homologs is nearly stoichiometric. Each technology is designed specifically for the feedstock to be processed.

Benzene Hydrogenation to Cyclohexane using CDHydro Technology

The patented CDHydro® process achieves selective hydrogenation of diolefins to amylenes in a catalytic distillation column. The process uses commercially available catalyst in proprietary catalytic distillation structures.

Complementary Technologies (Aromatics Production)

The following licensed technologies can bring added value by supplementing or upgrading by-products from the primary aromatics production processes:
